With Halloween approaching, you may be tempted to extend the costume fun to your living space. This week I interviewed Savannah Dekle, a senior History major at the University of Florida, about the Halloween decorations she made for her apartment.
On Friday of big/little week, we have reveal. In my chapter, the sisters all stand in a circle grouped by families (big, little, grandbig, etc.) who choose a theme and dress up in costumes. Our new members are given a candle and come outside in small groups. They must walk around until they find the candle that matches their own. Whoever holds the matching candle is their big sister. While they walk around, we sing traditional Phi Mu songs about sisterhood.
On the Tuesday of Fall 2013 big/little week we gave our littles frames. They could be store bought or we could decorate them ourselves. I chose to buy plain wooden frames from the craft store and personalize them to my littles’ preferences. Outside of big/little week this is an awesome, easy, and cheap gift for anyone and any occasion.
I surprised one of my littles last week with a special delivery to her dorm. I took a basic fishbowl and personalized it for big/little week. This is one of the easiest crafts you can make for your little, but she is sure to appreciate the thought behind it.
